Domain transfer transactions are generally completed within 7 days, which is the standard period determined by ICANN for generic (.COM, .NET, .INFO, .ORG, .WE, .TV) extensions.
It is important to consider the following conditions before initiating a transfer:
- At least 60 days must have passed since the domain name was registered and there must be more than 20 days left before the expiration date (the last 20 days are not mandatory, but the process will be restarted in case of any problems).
- There should be no debt to the company where the domain is registered.
- Admin Contact mail must be in working condition.
- The person requesting the transfer must be the owner of the domain name to be transferred.
- The status of the domain must be "active" (ok) (no pending, deletion status and the domain is not locked).
- The domain must have a transfer password (authorization code, epp code, etc.), which must be requested from the old registrar or obtained from their control panel.
Important Notes and Tips:
- When you transfer your domain to www.hostider.net, your registration period will be extended by 1 year.
- Although domain transfer extends the registration period by 1 year, it requires you to pay only 1 year registration fee.
- If the registration period of your domain has not expired and you have extended the registration period through the old registrar, it is important that you do not start the transfer process within the last 45 days before you start. Otherwise, you may lose the renewal fees paid to the old registrar.
The transfer will not take place and the payment will not be refunded:
- Failure to reply, incorrect or late reply to the e-mail sent to the administrative authorized e-mail address.
- The company where the domain name is registered refuses to make the transfer.
- The domain name you are applying for is not suitable for transfer.
Please note that the 7-day transfer process is valid for cases where your domain meets the transfer conditions. If your domain does not meet the appropriate conditions, the transfer process may take more than 7 days. Although the date of the transfer application does not matter, the 7-day process starts again each time it is repeated.
Any transfer fee is non-refundable if the transfer does not go through. However, the fee paid can be used as a credit balance for another transaction.
